Energy imprints
Created mostly throughout 2023, these works arise from direct, embodied gestures. Using my body to imprint movement onto the paper, I explore how the subtle and the invisible can take form through touch, weight, breath, and presence.
Each piece is a trace of energy — a moment where inner sensation becomes visible, where the body becomes the brush, and where expression emerges from the quiet space beneath thought.
Think! Meditate! Pray!
In this series, I explore the gestures that connect thought, silence, and devotion. Each piece begins with the imprint of my own body — a hand, an arm, an elbow — echoing iconic postures that embody inner states. From there, the line continues through automatic drawing, allowing movement and ink to flow beyond intention.
Think! (inspired by the posture of Auguste Rodin’s The Thinker, 1904) captures the tension of the mind seeking clarity, Meditate! the descent into stillness, and Pray! the opening toward something greater. Together, they form a visual meditation on human consciousness — from reflection to surrender.
The Three Freedoms
The Three Freedoms is a trio of works, also created by direct body–mark gestures. Each piece embodies a simple inner stance: yellow for No Excuses, black for No Judgment, and red for No Advice. Rather than offering rules, the intention is to celebrate the spaciousness that appears when we let go of what weighs on our relationships.
The yellow piece expresses clarity and courage; the black one holds neutrality and grounding; the red opens a space for listening. Together, they form a playful yet contemplative reminder of how light everything becomes when we stop overcomplicating the moment.
To Higher Frequencies
When we change our frequency, we change our life. In order to change our frequency, something needs to shift; something needs to be let go.
This piece shows the passage from being caught in the dark night of the soul to the moment something interrupts that flow of heavy energy, allowing us to rise above by releasing what has been holding us down.
Different movements create different imprints: fists or flat hands striking the paper, the touch of praying hands, or even the gesture of the heart sign.
I chose a triptych because shifting our frequency often happens in phases. The dense energy is set in motion until something clicks. Then, the vibration transforms—becoming lighter, more expansive.
Peace offering
Another exploration of printing directly with my hands to express flows of energy.
The flow is emphasised by delicate brushstrokes inspired by sumi-e, the ancient art of Chinese ink painting, evoking balance and lightness of being.
Here, the centrepiece is a wheel — symbol of movement, action, and the cycle of life. Formed by hand punches, an action born from force, the figures appear to face one another, creating a circle of harmony. Beneath, two open hands offer the wheel upward, inviting its energy to be transformed into peace and serenity.
